What you need to know about water with a twist
If you know me, you'll know I bang on about hydration. A lot.
But did you know that hydration isn't just about drinking water? Actually, the more important question is: are you utilising it? Are you actually absorbing it into your cells?
The fluid in our bodies is more like jelly in consistency. It's also known as fourth phase water, structured water, EZ water, or exclusion-zone water — written as H3O2. And the foods that contain the most structured water? Raw vegetables and fruit, surprise surprise. Though we do need to be careful with fruit. It's been so heavily hybridised over the years that it now contains far more sugar than nature originally intended.
Gerald Pollack is a bioengineer and scientist at the University of Washington. His book, The Fourth Phase of Water, offers new insights into the way water behaves in nature and in the body. In essence, structured water is thicker, more viscous, negatively charged, and holds energy. More on that in a moment.
But first, a little recap.
Drinking adequate amounts of clean water is essential. It helps every single cell in the body flush out toxins and take in nutrients. Every single function in the body requires water. Generally speaking, aim for at least 2 litres a day, and no more than 1 litre in any one hour. It's the first place to start in any health protocol.
Then it becomes a question of how well you are actually utilising the water you drink — and that depends on the health of your cell membranes.
Put simply: if you've been dehydrated for two years or more, you've inadvertently put your body into dehydration alert. In this chronically dehydrated state, your cells begin to shrivel. The liver responds by coating the cell wall in cholesterol to protect the fluid inside. Over time, the cell wall hardens, the pH inside your cells drops, and you create an acidic internal environment. That is not conducive to health. Viruses, bacteria, and other toxins thrive in exactly this state.
This cell wall hardening prevents the natural exchange of electrolytes and disrupts nightly cell cleansing — the process that should leave you feeling fresh and energised upon waking. You may start to experience more inflammation, the basis of so much symptomology, and begin to feel persistently tired. Eventually, hardened cell membranes can form the basis of cysts, tumours, fibroids, arterial plaques, and the plaques found in the brain, alongside many other dis-ease processes.
I've spoken about this many times before, in videos and blogs. What I want to add today is something a little different: the importance of structured water inside our cells.
Because this water is living, intelligent, and electrically charged. It doesn't need pumps. It functions like a battery. And you won't get it from the tap. That water is, for our purposes, effectively dead.
What you do need is sunlight, movement, and grounding — bare feet on the earth — to stabilise the charge in your body. You need electrolytes, found in raw fruit and vegetables, natural sea salt, sea moss, and shilajit. And you need clear energy: through your thoughts, your intentions, meditation, music, and other healthy frequencies. Water responds to vibration. Why not bless it? What's the harm.
"Sunlight is medicine. Movement is energy. Fruits are hydration. Earthing is alignment. Breath is electricity. Your body already knows how to heal. You just need to give it the conditions it was designed for." — Veda Austin
Finally, look up Masaru Emoto and his crystalline images of water — extraordinary evidence of how water can hold memory and respond to emotion and sound.
In the meantime, perhaps pour yourself a glass of clean, filtered water, sit in the sun with bare feet on the earth, and have another read.
