It's that time of year again! embrace the Autumn Equinox
If you haven't felt something emotionally, mentally or physically the last week you must have been MIA on some other universe. What with the pisces full moon and the upcoming equinox AND eclipses in the mix it's stirring to say the least.
The Autumn Equinox represents the biggest seasonal changeover of the year and the hardest to navigate hence the swell of colds, flu and tummy bugs this last week.
Your lymph is going to thicken - it's a natural event, and switch direction. This requires a huge wherewithal. You need to be in tip top shape if you're not going to react to this upheaval. Basically it's an enforced detoxification process to prepare for Autumn and Winter and gees, it can be so uncomfortable.
So do give yourself some grace as you navigate this period. If you can, slow down, tune in and listen to what you need.
Sometimes it's just too hard and painful to do and that's ok my friend, I hear you, really I do. Life can throw curveballs which make even the simplest tasks like walking through treacle. Whether that's navigating a divorce, financial difficulty, a health challenge, hormonal change, loss and grief of any kind or something else. This is earth school after all. We are here to grow are we not hunny bunny, but boy, would it be nice for it not to be so hard sometimes. But we don't grow through ease of course and there's a plethora of help out there but you do need to ask.
Be honest with your friends. Don't let toxic positivity be your thing! You're feeling crap, you're allowed to feel crap. Honour it, breathe through it and it will pass through you.
It sounds cliche-ed but for me getting out on my ebike, swimming in the sea and any form of nature is an absolute godsend.
I would recommend any grounding activity which means bare feet on anything natural even the wooden floorboards in your house and breath-work. These practices can take less than a minute and yet give you the reset you need in that moment. You don't need to develop big practices. Keep them frequent, small and simple if life is busy.
Plenty of clean filtered water not more than 1L in 1 hr of course. And simple nourishing meals with clean protein such as chicken, fish or eggs, pulses/tofu if you're vegan, gluten-free carbs such as potato, quinoa, shortgrain brown rice and plenty of veggies - a mixture of cooked or raw at this time of the year. Plus whole fruit for your vitamin C and antioxidants etc.
I'm taking shilajit (to cleanse and fortify) and sea-moss (to moisturise gut) mixed in warm water first thing at the moment and a fresh juice made of beetroot, kale, carrot, ginger and celery. Follow me on instagramto see what I'm up to. What are you doing? Do share.
You don't have to be perfect all the time. Our body is hugely adaptable but it depends on different factors as to how adaptable it is, such as genetic predispositions ie; family toxic load, environment, stress and diet. Certain times of the year such as equinoxes and full moons, it's particularly wise to listen in and make adjustments and life phases such as adolescence, pregnancy and menopause.
